Four new retailers are now open for the holiday season, including ULTA Beauty, Nike, Ann Taylor LOFT and a luxury AMC cinema with IMAX and Dolby Prime Technology. Additional retail partners committed at this time include Wahlburgers, MidiCi The Neapolitan Pizza Company, Converse, Forever 21 Red, Starbucks, JP Licks, Carters/OshKosh B'gosh, Gyu Kaku, European Wax and Chipotle. This is the first phase of new retail at South Bay, with the next wave of retailers slated to open in early 2018.

"We are thrilled to welcome our new retail partners to the historic neighborhood of Dorchester. Our team worked tirelessly to create a pedestrian friendly shopping and dining experience through thoughtful design and by cultivating a new mix of retail and restaurants to serve the needs of the community," said Brad Dumont, Managing Director, Development at EDENS. "Our goal is create a dynamic gathering place that hasn't existed before – this is where neighbors can spend time with friends and family."

EDENS engaged resident blacksmiths, mural artists, carpenters and metalworkers to create unique custom works throughout South Bay. The "Made in Dorchester" initiative is a direct reflection of our mission to enrich community by partnering with local artisans and placemakers who embody the culture and soul of Dorchester. Jointly working on the design and curation, EDENS and the artisans have created a canvas that is rooted and reflective of the local community, and aims to create a place where Dorchester residents are proud to call their own.

When complete, EDENS and its partners will have transformed the 11 acres of blighted industrial property into 160,000 square-feet of new shops and restaurants, 475 units of new housing and a 130-room hotel. The project is three phases in total, with the next two phases completed over the next 12 to 18 months.
