CHARLOTTE, N.C., May 23, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Construction will soon begin at South End favorite Atherton Mill, and Atherton Market will make a temporary move inside the Mill building to better accommodate shoppers.

The last day of the Saturday farmers' market in its current location was May 20, but they won't skip a beat – the first day inside the Mill building will be May 27. The summer season kicks off the next weekend, though, as the Market celebrates their grand re-opening on June 3. Market vendors will change seasonally, but those making the move initially include:

  • Windy Hill
  • Coto Family Farms
  • Brewington Farms
  • Bell's Best Berries
  • The Gardener's Table
  • Lucky Fish
  • Rogue Farms Urban
    Hydroponics
  • Grass-Fed Productions/Root
    Down Foods
  • SkyeTurtle Designs
  • Exceptional Terrariums
  • Coldwater Creek Farms
  • Harmony Gardens
  • Carolina Artisan Bread

In its new location, the majority of Market vendors will be open on Saturdays only – however, a few Market favorites will be open throughout the week: Bookout Blooms and Not Just Coffee. Chef Alyssa will make the move as well, and will be open based on her class schedule. Stay tuned for some additional vendors and retailers that will be added to the mix.

The Market's grand re-opening will be a party to kick off the summer, from 9 a.m.2 p.m. inside the historic Mill building. Pastries from Carolina Artisan Bread will start off the morning, and lowcountry boil from Southend Stew will be served beginning at 11am. Plus, you'll be able to enjoy live music throughout the celebration – with Happenstance serving up the beers. They'll also have commemorative t-shirts to give away, face painting and crafts for kids – in addition to all of the favorite vendors!
