CHARLOTTE, N.C., Jan. 22, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- EDENS, one of the nation's leading retail real estate owners and developers, announced four new local retailers and restaurants to open at Park Road Shopping Center in the coming months. EDENS acquired Park Road Shopping Center in 2011, and is committed to preserve its close community ties, while enhancing the family-friendly atmosphere and diverse merchandise mix.  The company has designed the redeveloped center with the community in mind to create a place where neighbors can connect with friends and family.

"EDENS is committed to enriching the individual communities in which they do business.  At Park Road Shopping Center, we are dedicated to preserving the history and legacy of the center, while introducing new, local retailers and restaurants that will complement what has been already been established," said Jodie McLean, President and Chief Investment Officer of EDENS.

EDENS has focused heavily on the design of Park Road including improved traffic circulation, creating more of a walkable community, along with added and improved outdoor dining areas and landscaping. The center's facade, storefronts and sidewalks have also undergone design enhancements.

The newly announced additions include: Cantina 1511, Va Da Vie, LALA Girl and RockSalt.

Cantina 1511, scheduled to open toward the end of this summer, is a Charlotte institution.  In 2004, Cantina 1511 opened its doors with the promise to serve the good souls of Charlotte with consistently outstanding Mexican fare.  Cantina 1511 continues to 'bring more to the table than good food,' as they continue to expand their vision and serve food made from quality freshly grown ingredients.  The philosophy behind the menu is to create a tapestry of flavor, color, aromas and textures happening in a joyous and friendly atmosphere.

Va Da Vie, a local gelato store scheduled to open in February, is a local start-up churning gelato and sorbetto in-house daily, giving customers the freshest experience possible.  Owners John Paglia and Wendy Leege saw an opening in Charlotte for innovative and simple treats and are excited to be part of the Park Road legacy.  Their mission is to create high-quality, all-natural gelato and fresh fruit sorbetto.  Va Da Vie is locally owned, featuring locally sourced flavors from a North Carolina dairy farm and a variety of seasonal North Carolina produce.

The LALA Girl is a locally owned beauty service makeup bar, scheduled to open at Park Road this spring.  The LALA Girl will be a perfect complement to the women's fashion retailers already at Park Road.  For a starting price of $35, women on the go are able to receive a full-face makeup application from a professional makeup artist in just 30 to 40 minutes.  Special services including eyelash extensions, brow tinting, airbrush tanning, and more will be available for an additional charge.  In addition to offering a wide array of services, The LALA Girl will carry a makeup product line for consumers to purchase.

RockSalt, a Rappahannock Oyster Co. concept, is a farm-to-table restaurant, owned and operated by Travis Croxton, a 4th generation oyster farmer with a burning desire to support other farmers of land and sea.  While seafood-oriented, the attention to local farmers will be omnipresent thus ensuring there are numerous options on the menu.  As the fourth location on the East Coast and the first in North Carolina, RockSalt will seek out produce, poultry, meats and other artisanal products from small farmers with close proximity to Charlotte, as well as local brews and ciders on draft, along with a craft cocktail program and world class wines.  The restaurant will offer a large outdoor patio and a communal interior design anchored with the incredible aroma of a wood-fired grill.

With these new retail concepts comes a relocation within the center for Omega Sports who will be moving to part of the former Rack Room space. This store format will be their new prototype.
