CHARLOTTE, N.C., Aug. 5, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- The little things are the best things in the summer – a taste of great gelato, a new favorite restaurant, a shade of lip gloss you've never tried, a new piece to your summer wardrobe – and a party to celebrate. And this summer you'll be able to get all of it at Park Road Shopping Center, as a host of new retailers will be opening all summer long.
"For 50 years Park Road has played an essential role in this community," says Lyle Darnall, a Managing Director at EDENS, the center's owner. "It's gratifying to see how it has evolved with the tastes and needs of today's shoppers and the neighborhood. It's like an old friend who knows exactly what to do and say."
To help celebrate its grand opening in style, Onward Reserve, the lifestyle retailer for men of all backgrounds, is throwing a summer party at Park Road on August 7 along with Garden & Gun, the award-winning national lifestyle magazine that covers the best of the South. G&G editor Jed Portman will be signing copies of their New York Times best-selling book, The Southerner's Handbook, from 3 p.m. until 5 p.m. Originally an on-line retailer, Onward Reserve now operates brick-and-mortar stores in Athens, GA, and the Buckhead area of Atlanta as well as Charlotte, NC. Onward Reserve offers a curated collection of menswear, accessories and all the right brands. Their bi-monthly Gazette bursts with helpful advice on trends, travel and the stories behind the brand.
Other retailers and restaurants are helping to continue the center's tradition:
- Va Da Vie is now scooping up classic and bold flavors of homemade gelato.
- Cantina 1511, a Charlotte staple, brings its spicy Mexican fare later this month.
- Lala Girl, a beauty service makeup bar, opened in late July.
- Omega Sports will settle into their new location in the center by mid-August.
- RockSalt, a bar and restaurant concept from the Rappahannock Oyster Co., will open later this year.
