COLUMBIA, S.C., March 7, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- EDENS, one of the nation's leading retail real estate owners and developers, is continuing to impact their hometown by redefining the retail landscape of Columbia. By focusing on design, merchandising and community engagement, EDENS is committed to enhancing the community.
EDENS centers are uniquely designed to create a sense of warmth and familiarity in each individual neighborhood. Through design details that reflect local values, EDENS neighborhood centers invoke an emotional connection to the consumer, creating a "home away from home" mentality.
A merchandise mix of the best local independent retailers combined with complementary regional and national retailers creates a "best-in-class" customer experience at EDENS centers. Local shopkeepers and owner/operators foster a sense of belonging and uniqueness that result in customer loyalty and a sense of ownership.
EDENS is currently working on the redevelopment of Trenholm Plaza, welcoming Cafe Caturra, SOMA Intimates and Ann Taylor LOFT. Cafe Caturra is a popular cafe/wine bar concept that has had a long-standing tenant relationship with EDENS throughout the mid Atlantic region, opening in March. SOMA Intimates, a division of White House/Black Market, will open its first and only boutique-style store in the Columbia market in April, targeting the modern, sophisticated woman. Ann Taylor LOFT will open this summer with a new design concept, offering consumers a more intimate shopping experience.
"We have been extremely meticulous in crafting just the right merchandising mix for Trenholm Plaza," said Jodie McLean, EDENS President and Chief Investment Officer. "Through the redesign of our neighborhood centers, we are consistently updating our projects to cater to the local needs of our consumer in the communities in which we do business."
EDENS believes it is their responsibility to enhance the communities in which they do business. With their carefully selected retail partners and deliberate design and merchandising, EDENS strives to create an environment that fosters connectivity and a great relationship between EDENS, their retail partners, shoppers and the overall communities.
