DALLAS, Nov. 20, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- EDENS announces its purchase of Casa Linda Plaza, one of the oldest shopping centers in the Dallas area. This 323,000 square foot center, located five miles northeast of downtown, was first opened in the late 1940s.
Today's center serves the White Rock Lake area neighborhoods of Lake Highlands, Lochwood, Casa Linda, and Forest Hills. It is situated on three of the four corners at the intersection of Buckner Boulevard and Garland Road and is anchored by Albertson's as well as local favorites like Torchy's Tacos, El Fenix Restaurant, Highland Park Cafeteria, and Elliott's Hardware.
In 1939, Carl Brown began the process of turning part of his family farm into a shopping center – a place for the residents in this area to spend time together. It still fulfills that mission today: small-town feel, but with a sophisticated mix of local and national retailers.
"This center is a part of the fabric of East Dallas and the White Rock Lake area; it's entrenched in the community," says Chad Braun, Managing Director. "Our goal is to continue to be good stewards of the property and maintain that reputation."
EDENS owns and operates several other shopping centers in the Dallas area, including Preston Royal, MacArthur Park, Preston Towne Crossing and Uptown Plaza.
