Center for Child and Family Achievement, Princeton Shopping Center and EDENS to Host Inaugural Pop-up Art Gallery
Art Gallery to benefit CCFA's Read to Achieve program. The exhibit will feature works for sale by Faith Ringgold, painter, mixed media sculptor, teacher, humanist, lecturer and author of numerous award winning children's books.
Her evolving artistry has taken many forms including social realism, performance art, soft sculpture and children's books to her famous Story Quilts. Her artwork is featured on the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Timeline of Art History, a chronological, geographical and thematic exploration of the most important art from around the world.
The exhibit will also feature local, regional and international artists, which include Thomas Malloy, former artist laureate of Trenton, Judith Brodsky and Lucy Graves McVicker. Acclaimed exhibiting artists include Mel Leipzig. Opening reception to be held Thursday, November 12, 2015 from 5-8 p.m. November 15, 2015 ChariTea; November 21, 2015 Closing Reception.

PRINCETON, N.J., Nov. 3, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- The Friends of the Center for Child and Family Achievement (CCFA), Princeton Shopping Center, and EDENS are pleased to announce the Art for Read to Achieve PopUp Gallery from November 12-30, 2015. The Gallery is free and open to the public and will feature a number of acclaimed local and international artists, starting with the opening reception on November 12 from 5-8 p.m.
Since 2014, CCFA has been a leader in the City of Trenton, addressing the academic achievement gap for low-income children in grades K-12 by responding to the unmet needs of the entire family. Through direct service, collaborations with other community organizations and advocacy, CCFA is strengthening the outcomes of the children and families that it serves. Proceeds from the gallery will benefit CCFA's programs.
Supporting the Event
Members of the public are invited to get involved by providing original art for the gallery, purchasing artwork, or by sponsoring/underwriting connected events, including the Ride to Achieve Princeton to Trenton bike ride on November 14, 2015. CCFA is a 501c3 nonprofit organization and all contributions are tax deductible. Galleries and collectors that donate original works of art will receive a tax donation equivalent to the fair market value of their donation. Financial contributions will support CCFA's programs and activities, including the Family Homework Clinic, Achieving Financial Literacy training, and emergency resources to help children in need.
